From Owner-Dependent Operations to a System-Driven, Export-Ready Business
OINDC worked with a manufacturing company that was operating without a structured ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. The journey went beyond certification—building systems that reduced dependence on the owner and enabled the company to independently manage customer visits, audits, quality processes and business growth.
The Challenge
When OINDC started working with the company, the organisation did not have an implemented ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. Many important activities, including quality decisions, customer visits and audit-related processes, were closely dependent on the business owner. The immediate requirement was to build a proper quality management system. But the larger challenge was to create an organisation that could run its systems independently, respond confidently to customers and audits, and continue growing without everything depending on one person.
OINDC Approach
OINDC started by understanding how the company was actually working on the shop floor and in day-to-day operations. Rather than simply preparing documents for certification, the focus was on creating systems that people could actually use. OINDC supported the organisation in: Establishing and implementing a structured Quality Management System. Strengthening process ownership and responsibilities within the organisation. Developing systematic approaches for customer visits and customer audits. Preparing the team to handle audits and customer requirements with greater confidence. Building discipline around documentation, records and process monitoring. Supporting the organisation through its journey towards IATF 16949 certification. Most importantly, helping the company reduce its dependence on the owner for routine quality and customer-related activities. The objective was simple: build a system that works even when the owner is not personally involved in every activity.
